So why am I dedicating a page to Paul Wesley on my site? At a time when I was feeling VERY alone I started re-watching The Vampire Diaries on Netflix. I made it through all 8 seasons and I felt a hollowness inside me and I didn’t understand why. I thought “something must of happened in the show that I ‘missed’.” So I started watching again. I made it to about the end of season 4 and I realized that the character of Stefan Salvatore was breaking my heart. The actor that portrayed Stefan was Paul Wesley. I didn’t know anything about him so I looked him up online, Wikipedia and IMDB.

According to Wikipedia “Paul Wesley was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, to Polish parents Tomasz and Agnieszka Wasilewski, and grew up in Marlboro Township, New Jersey. He has one elder sister, Monika Emara (née Wasilewski), and two younger sisters, Leah and Julia.

In addition to English, he also speaks Polish, having spent four months of every year in Poland until the age of 16. Wesley attended Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, New Jersey, and Marlboro High School for a period during his high school years. He started his theater studies in New York City and transferred from Marlboro High School to Lakewood Prep School in Howell, New Jersey, because the school was able to better accommodate his acting schedule. During his junior year in high school, he was cast in the soap opera Guiding Light as character Max Nickerson. He started college at Rutgers University in New Jersey but left after one semester when more roles were offered to him, and he realized he could make a career out of acting.”

Ok he is Polish, like my dad, and first generation American. He is a humanitarian and activist. Ok, I don’t agree with everything he believes in. If I did that would be weird. We are supposed to all be different. He is Vegan, I’m a meat eater, but I do believe that all animals she be treated with respect whether they are food or not. ESPECIALLY if they are raised to be used for human consumption. I think we waste SO much food today. Animals being butchered for food should not go to waste. Big corporate farms are cruel, wasteful, and destroying our planet. Yes, I said destroying our planet! Did you know that all that cow shit and piss and all other waste is being dumped into our planet and all those methane gases are not only destroying our planet but us as well? I did not know that until recently.

Yes I look at a cow or a calf and I think “awwww” but I never think Yum! Do you? We should all think “awwww”. I look at piglets and I think “awwww” but I look at grown pigs and I think BACON! How f’d-up is that? I look at baby chicks and, again, I think “awwww”, but I look at grown chickens and I see fried chicken. Paul is the one who has me thinking differently these days. I don’t ever think I could go Vegan but I can go organic and I can eat less meat. I’m trying. Its only been a couple of months and I always suck at new stuff but I’m giving it a go.

I want the American government to do more for the animals. Whether they are pets or livestock. I live in Texas, a beef state. There is no way in hell Texas politicians are ever going to go against the Texas Beef Counsel or whoever it was that sued Oprah back in the 1990’s. But, just like them, I am entitled to my opinions. For me this means less red meat and when I do eat any kind of meat it will be organic. That alone will put me in the poor house.

Paul also supports the American Humane Society! We all know how I feel about dogs, and if you don’t know how I feel about dogs let me just say one day when I win the lottery I want to buy a huge chunk of land and rescue dogs and find them homes. My dogs are my life! We have had 3 that have crossed the rainbow bridge; Scooter, Shelby, and Buddy. We have 2 now, Harley and Dexter. I would trade none of them for anything in the world. Paul has a rescue dog named Greggy. In all honesty he could be Dexter’s brother. Exact same coloring except Dexter has white on his front paws and Greggy has white on his back paws.

I got exposed to Paul’s work through the television show The Vampire Diaries. On the show he played Stefan, my favorite male character. Whenever I watch the show I feel so sorry for Stefan. In the show Stefan was turned into a vampire at the age of 17. Anyone who has been 17 should feel sorry for this guy. He never really gets to grow up. He makes a lot of the same mistakes throughout his life, especially when it comes to love. I remember when I fell in love at that age. It frickin’ hurt! The first girl he fell in love with prior to being a vampire hurt him. The second girl hurt him. The third he married but died on the same day he married her. Paul is the one who wanted Stefan to die at the end of the series and the writers gave him his wish. I don’t think Stefan should have died. He should have been able to live out his life happy with his wife who he loved deeply, he never really got to be happy.

Paul is the co-founder of Brother’s Bond Bourbon. The other co-founder is Ian Somerholder, also from the Vampire Diaries. I’ve always like bourbon whiskey more than most other alcohols. So when Brother’s Bond Bourbon came out I had to try it! It is the ONLY bourbon that I have ever been able to drink straight. It is so smooth. I will have more on this subject on my Brother’s Bond Bourbon page.

Happy. In life I think we should all be happy. I hope Paul Wesley is happy in his life, not because I idolize him or because (in all honesty) he is just so damn pretty, and hot, but because he has made so many fans happy by being generous with his time. He makes people smile and he is genuinely funny so he makes people laugh. He brings happiness into people’s lives. Whether with his acting/directing/producing work or his activism and humanitarian work. Would I like to meet Paul one day? OF COURSE! Not because he is handsome, pretty, sexy, etc. but I think he would be an interesting person to talk to and even get to know. I love to talk and get to know people when I get over my shyness, it’s the shyness that people usually mistake for me being a bitch. LOL
